Comprehensive electrophysiology across rare variant genetic mouse models for schizophrenia
This dataset contains electrophysiological recordings from mice across rare variant genetic models for schizophrenia and littermate controls. It contains raw and processed electrophysiological recordings, behavioural data, metadata, MATLAB code, 3d printable files, fluorescence micrographs, and videos.
Full methods can be found in Stedehouder et al. (2025).
File formats
Video files are .seq, .mp4 and .idx
Behavioural datapoints are .txt
Recordings are .dat files, with accompanying .npy, .text, and .oebin formats
3d print files are .stl
Epifluorescence microscopy images are Carl Zeiss Imaging (.czi) files and .tiff.
Processed data comes in MATLAB (.mat), Hierarchical Data Format v.5 (.H5), serialised pickle (.pkl), NumPy (.npy), Apache Parquet (.parquet), tab-separated values (.tsv), and Python(.py) formats.
Availability
Data acquisition and analysis are still ongoing. The dataset will be made available upon acquisition and preprocessing of experimental animals across 3 cohorts.
We welcome researchers wishing to reuse our data to contact the creators of datasets. If you are unfamiliar with analysing the type of data we are sharing, have questions about the acquisition methodology, need additional help understanding a file format, or are interested in collaborating with us, please get in touch via email. Our current members have email addresses on our main site. The corresponding author of an associated publication, or the first or last creator of the dataset are likely to be able to assist, but in case of uncertainty on who to contact, email Ben Micklem, Research Support Manager at the MRC BNDU.
